Well, I have been having the dead strip issue (M1300) since last October/November of 2004. I tried using the remedies posted and have had success. The dead strip issue was not a concern until March and I couldn't resolve the dead strip problem. Just this week I decided that I would upgrade my HD to 80 gb (Fijutsu) and 1 gb of RAM (Crucial)and call in for a RMA to fix it. After reinstalling original software, I turned it on to test it and by gosh..............no dead strip anymore.
Has this happen to anyone else? Now I don't know if I should send it.
Also, I know people are having trouble reinstalling software on an upgraded HD but I had no problems at all.
Your input would be helpful.
