Default I am a doc but a layman in computers. I wanna us

I am a doc but a layman in computers. I wanna use my tablet pc at work and for entertainment( DVD n Games) n Internet. I am considering Tecra M4 and IBM X41 and I am unable to decide between the 2. Can you please advice?

My Findings: Positives: Big Screen size,High resolution,Fast HDD and built in Optical drive are the positives I found in Tecra. Negatives: Bulky, Less screen viewing angles.

For IBM: Positives: Ultraportable, excellent keyboard and viewing angles(heard 170 degrees), sturdy construcion.

I am still confused and unable to decide...!!!
Need your help n suggestions Tablet PC Dudes!!!

Well they are kinda in diffrent ball parks the tecra is built for consideration as a "main" computer and a desktop replacemnt in some ways, video card, screen size, features. The IBM is more a business tool, providing light business focused applications. If you want to play games, and probably don't have another computer at home get the m4, if you have another pc that has decent hardware the lightness may provide enough benefit to side with it.

thanks. Apart from the battery, the paper and pen feel, screen brightness and viewing angles are really important. How are these on tecra m4?

    Thx

I don't have a Tecra M4 but I've been following the comments on it and people are saying the viewing angle isn't very good. Here's an extract from ericmackonline.com:

"Screen observations: I 'm beginning to understand why wide angle viewing is such a big deal for a Tablet PC. When I look at the M4 straight on or use it in laptop mode, the screen is fine. If I'm even a few degrees off center, however, the screen readability drops. This would not be a problem with a laptop but a tablet, as I'm finding, is used very differently."

You've really answered your own question, Praveen. Since you want to use it for many things, including entertainment, the M4 is by far the better machine for this. It includes and internal optical drive and has a video subsystem that can play most games at a decent rate, as well as featuring somewhat more processing power.

The Thinkpad will not do these things nearly as well and after you've watched a couple of DVDs using an external drive, you may not like the fuss and bother. If, however, your real emphasis is on work, the better portability and longer battery life may move you into the X41.

Good luck and happy computing whichever way you decide to go!
