Well i sent my tc1100 in to the repair shop a few weeks ago to fix some wierd squiggly colours that were flashing up on my screen. They replaced the system board and that seems to have solved that problem. But ever since I got it back the glass screen has been coming unstuck in the corner. I've had this problem once before and got it fixed but I didn't really feel like sending my compuer right back into the repair shop after getting it back. After all it still worked fine and it's probably not cheap for them to purulator it to another city.
Well yesterday it was getting really annoying and I decided to call up repair number and the guy said that since it was a screen problem, it was likely caused by me mishandling it, how they got that conclusion I don't know. But that means there's a $30 estimate and shiping fee. And then he asked if I would be taking the hard drive out. I had the same question last time and decided to just leave it in cause I don't have any tools to take it out and there's nothing really irreplacable there. But the guy on the phone said that they definitely would erase my hard drive if I sent it in. Is this true? He said it was standard procedure, although I see no reason to erase my hard drive in order to reglue the screen, especially considering that this computer isn't even covered for software anymore, so why bother with the hard drive. Should I still send in my computer? I used to think quite highly of HP services but now I have some doubts.
