Shoot! I should have waited three weeks. Nah, I really don't know if I could detect a 7% difference.

Hi,
In a continuing effort to provide our customers with the latest in Tablet PC technology, Motion is pleased to announce that we are now offering the 933 MHz Intel Pentium III ULV-M Processor available now with all bases and bundles. The 933 MHz processor boasts a 7% speed increase from the 866 MHz and will be offered at the same price.
Thanx!

Will they sell the 866mhz models for cheaper? Or will they just sell the 933mhz for the same price?
All orders from now on will be filled with 933s at the same price. I can't see the difference myself, and am sticking with my 866,for waht I do, it isn't worth moving my files over.quote:Originally posted by TheSlayer

But just to answer the inevitable question, no, there is no upgrade from 866 to 933.
Thanx!
Because of the build to order model there probably aren't any 866MHz models in inventory to discount.
hi Steve, thanks for all your help. I ordered a motion with dell, will the new chip be included in the units ordered from dell. thanks again
Will Gateway also move to 933?
Does the 933MHz model have the same battery?
How will battery life be affected?
Hi -
Gateway, Dell, and other resellers will be receiving 933s for any future orders they place. I have no visibility into their existing inventories, so I don't know when their orders will begin to be transitioned to 933s.
Hi -
Same batteries, docks, everything.
I don't think this will affect either battery life or heat, since the processor steps down...
I'll ask an engineer and post if I learn anything different.
Thanx,
steveh
I ordered my M1200 on March 3rd from Dell Canada - it was described on their web site as an 866MHz machine, but when it arrived yesterday (March 18th) it was a 933! So I wasn't unhappy about that.
