yup i am a student
This solution worked for some earlier around the release of OneNote SP1. Go to the following link and download the OneNote trial. You'll want to uninstall the version currently on your hard drive. Install the trial version and use the key you received to activate the program.

Here is one thread where this was discussed.

Installing is not my problem!!! Its just the recovery CD that was given to me by Toshiba HAS THE ONENOTE WRONG CD KEY!!! THE ONENOTE CD KEY IS WRONG!! One note 2003 install is fine...Toshiba and Microsoft tech support is useless. I tried Onenote trial version and i don't like it much but i paid for it so i want to use it. Sorry for venting its getting frustrating. What to do now??? screw using onenote and stay with win journal???
Did you even try the solution given by Wcrocker?
The solution I pointed to earlier seemed to solve the problem you are dealing with. It couldn't hurt to give it a try and if it works you come out ahead.
