Default I posted many moons ago about the default paper

I posted many moons ago about the default paper size on the M200. Because of its 1400x1050 screen, new pages are created with odd dimensions: they only occupy about 75% of the width of the page.

You can fix the problem by going "Fit to width" from the Zoom menu, but upon reentering the note, the awkward zoom reappears.

At the time I was told this was because the zooming algorithm was 'complicated' (or something like that). I guess I'm wondering... when will this algorithm become uncomplicated? :)

I would think GoBinder should simply create an 8.5x11 page, extract the width and height of the viewing area, and zoom so that it occupies the maximum area while maintaining aspect ratio. The page I see is definitely not an 8.5x11 page.

It may sound petty but this is the biggest thing that keeps me using OneNote and Windows Journal (and I did purchase GoBinder). I'd love to see this fixed.

GoBinder does create a 8.5x11 page (actually 7.5x10.25 to allow for printer margins). GoBinder only shows the the top part of the page. By default it makes the page as big as possible, but zooms no larger than 100% to avoid showing giant letters.
I believe the word for the algorithm is sophisticated, and no we will not dumb it down. However, you will be happy to know that in future versions we have enhanced the algorithm even more to let the user override with their preference.
My guess is that you eventually use the AI of GoBinder, but feel free to try the manual mode.

Yay! I hate having to nudge it up three clicks every single time I open something I want to write on. It's very annoying for those of us with M200s and the like.

    Maybe I'm confused...

I don't want the algorithm dumbed down, I want it smarter. Look at the default dimensions of a page in the provided screenshot. The paper size in the screenshot has an approximate aspect ratio of 1.7:1, whereas 11x8.5 should be closer to 1.3:1.

Printing this page when there is writing in the bottom portion actually prints TWO pages, because of course, it's not an 8.5x11 page!

Very happy to know I can override this in future versions. I'd happily use the AI of GoBinder if it were correct.

I am having the same exact problem in my Fujitsu T4010 with the SXGA+ screen. It will be so nice when this is fixed, so printing isn't such an issue.

Technically, the default zoom level has no connection to printing.
You probably want some kind of indicator where the printed page would end.
This is a different feature, that his been requested by a several users.
Personally, I am trying to go paperless, but for those of you still wanting the white stuff, we may help you out in the future.

Right, So what I have had to do is create new pages where I want to force printing. I would also love to go paperless, however, most teachers want regular problem sets turned in on paper...

A print preview feature, and a page break feature would be great! I do my homework in GoBinder, but my teachers want it handed in of course, so I have to print it. I just hope it doesn't cut off in the middle of a molecule. I find the lack of the print preview to be a real hassle and a potential waste of paper and toner because if the page breaks at the wrong place, I will have to insert space and reprint.

Aside from this, I really like GoBinder! I am still on the free trial, and will probably buy it. But, if OneNote had a lasso feature it'd be a toss up because they have a print preview which is very helpful/dare I say necessary.

The Print Preview may make it into GoBinder 2006. More importantly we will improve the pagination of pages so that we do not cut a drawing or line in half.
There are situation when a stroke will have to get split (you could draw a stroke larger than a page), but for all real world notes the pagination will do an excellent job.
