Hey all, last year Microsoft had people that would go around and demo Tablet PC's.... Does anyone know if they still do this and how I would go about applying for somrthing like that? I looked on the tablet pc page and also on Microsoft's job page and couldn't find anything.

It isn't an MVPs job to go around and demo tabletPCs. I don't think that Microsoft have a job to do that, mores the pity

OK, it may not be the MVP's, but Microsoft had representatives going around to different stores to demo the tablet PC. Does anyone know anything about this?

I know what you are referring too. I can't recall the name of the tour, sponsors or players but it was an, "Early attempt," to promote the TPC by visiting brick and mortar stores throughout the US. There was no direct MVP involvment that I am aware of.

These people did not deminstrate tablets as their fulltime job. The tour was off and on, a few weeks at a time, for a few months. Microsoft might do this again,but they are not doing the tour now.

FYI, Microsoft makes it easy to search for Tablet jobs there. Go to:

Select Products = TabletPC. There you go.
They used to have a Tablet PC Evangelist position open. That would include lots of demos and travel. Tempting except I don't want to move to Redmond. :-)

That's got to be a hell of a job, though. Travel around playing with your favorite toys, hang out in tech stores, win a few converts. Heck, those people probably got a per diem and everything. I'd move to Redmond and live out of a suitcase and keep track of milage and stuff.

Hehe, it is a GREAT job. :-) I've been doing this for desktop PC stuff for the last year and I'm moving over to do it for mobile products next month. I love the travel, I love the demos. It's a dream job for me.
