Our distributor here in the UK told me he took delivery of 10 this week... I've had on order for a few weeks now so should have it early next week... (I hope!)

I just got word from our HP vendor that a new model number has been assigned for the TC1100, for a model available this summer. Specs are:
1.2 Ghz cpu
512 Mg
60 Gb hard disk
and all the other standard stuff...
Model number is PX284AA#ABA. A search on the HP website for this number took me to the TC1100 spec page, though I couldn't find the specific model number on the page itself. Interesting.

What WiFi capabilities? 802.11a/b/g or just 802.11b/g?
Will HP have an indoor/outdoor viewable screen on any of the new models other than the rugged?
That's reassuring to a certain extent and you can understand HP's strategic position - on the one hand they didn't have any product in the convertable market which is where the transition from keyboard to pen entry will most likely occur. Hence their development of the TC 4200. On the other hand, they had established a pretty good segment of market share with hybrid TC 1x00 series which I think most users recognize as the most versatile of Tablet PCs. How to introduce and deploy a new system without undercutting a popular device appears to have been their problem. I think it was a mistake to limit the communication of their vision to the market place. Or perhaps it was a function of competitive paranoia.
Regardless, this new TC1100 model doesn't appear to be much of an update nor I think what most folks have been looking for in terms of an upgrade. For that reason I think it is only an incremental move to keep that part of the market share on life support until the TC 4200 is deployed in sufficient depth to allow production to transition to the real upgrade of the hybrid form factor - end of '05 maybe?
I was sort of hoping for a 64-128MB graphics chip (Go440 at least), 80GB HD, a/b/g WiFi, repaired Wacom/Pen functionality and 1.4Ghz processor.
That's about what it would take for me to upgrade (spending about $1800-$2000). If I sold my current unit for $900, that would make it a worthwhile upgrade.
I am worried however that all HP warranties moving forward will only be 1 year.
There are many reasons I decided on the TC1100 and one was the three year warranty. On HP web site, the Pentium M733 is listed with a three year warranty and the Pentium M713 has a one year warranty. For corporate purchases a one year warranty could possibly mean lost sales for HP.
I like those specs (and your pricing) Tablus Maximus but I'd like mine to have an indoor/outdoor viewable screen please.
