lewPC,
This is not typical behaviour for an HP. What model do you have?
No harm trying a calibration.
You can also try re-seating the pen tip.
I just noticed that my cursor seems to jump when I am hovering with the pen just over the screen. This is a brand new machine,is this normal? I don't recall having this problem with my Acer.
Do I just need to calibrate?

I have a custom system with 733 processor. I tried to recalibrate and that seemed to help a little bit, but did not totally solve the problem.
I have also noticed that I have a buzzing noise when I touch the screen too, the fan runs a lot, and the back is really hot! Hotter than my Acer.
One other odd thing that I have noticed is that when I scroll down a page, the screen seems to "fragment". . . straight lines get broken up?
I wonder if I have a shielding problem that others have mentioned ?
