Default Hello everybody, I am looking to purchase a tabl

Hello everybody, I am looking to purchase a tablet to replace my laptop. There are so many models out there so I was helping people could help me narrow it down a bit. Here is what I need:

-prefer last years model (so I can get a better price)
-on board dvd/cd-rw drive or dvd+/-r drive
    -must be convertable
    -prefer a larger screen
-512mb of ram or more (or at least upgradable)

So far I really like the Acer C300 series, does anybody have any other suggestions?

    Thanks
    Matt

Sounds like a Gateway or Acer to me. Since you want last years models, the new HP or Toshiba sound off the table. Initially, it seemed that Gateway had a few problems with their hinge, but that appears to be fixed. At this point, it seems they are fairly equal units. I'd check out the forums for these two brands and make the jump, you'll not regret it.

Well, you've got a picture of the M200 so I assume you'll be buying a Toshiba as soon as prices go down. The M200 fits the criteria you've specified.

M200 is quite a good choice if you are willing to use an external optical drive and if you define 12.1" as a "larger screen".

The M200/205 has all that you request except that the CD/DVD drive is external. Many people on this web site are very happy with their Toshiba tablets.
