I don't suppose it also coincides with you using an external display does it? That's what causes mine to suddenly forget what it's set to be.
I've not played movies on mine, so not sure if that does it too.
My screen resolution doesn't stay at 1400x1050 in the regular computing mode. After a while the screen resets itself to 1024 by 768. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it? It gets really annoying, especially when i'm watching movies on the m200. Thanks for your input

mine does that, too. I disabled those four soft buttons on the right border of the screen hoping that something was interfereing with them, but it didn't help. I haven't noticed any pattern for when it does it, but sometimes it will go ahead and change the orientation while it's at it.
Hi b3n84, nezlab99
Is there even a remote possibility that you are hitting Fn-Spacebar?
This switches the display to 1024x768.
(do it again to get to 800x600 and once more to get back to 1400x1050)
not me. I know it happens in portrait because then I have to open it back up to laptop orientation to restore the resolution
nezlab99,
Do you have any remote software installed? (MaxiVista, VNC). I have MaxiVista, and rarely... it will cause a change in resolution as it connects to a remote station.
Sorry, the only other thing that comes to mind is to reinstall the video drivers.
I don't have any extra monitor software or any video stuff that I can think of. I still even have the original video drivers on. I'm considering reinstalling Windows completely, (kinda using that as an excuse to get a new HD)
nezlab99,
I'd try reinstalling the video drivers first (before reinstalling all of Windows).
