Averatec Tablets selling only less than 1000 dlsnad come with everthing dvd bulid in but still not boot the sale u think tc4200 the winner ?
I don't think I should have been in such a hurry to eBay my tc1100. Here's a quote from an article at C|Net.com
"Although tablets haven't sold in huge numbers--Gartner predicts that about 900,000 will ship in 2005--Clark said HP hopes to gain more buyers by offering its new machine with a lower price. Clark said the tc4200's $1,599 price aims to bring in more traditional notebook owners who might want to use a tablet from time to time. It will ship at the end of March, HP said in a statement"

I guess you don't care about weight anymore. The Averatec C3500 is a pound more than the HP.
I just did a little reasearch on the Averatec and it was pretty scary. HP or Toshiba for me. I was pretty set on the HP since they seem to embrace new stuff more than others (Tablets, Media Centers) instead of jut me-too'ing the rest of the industry but Toshiba might have something cool around the corner. I guess we'll all know Tuesday.
I guess I'll chime in - all the bashing I think represents a deep frustration and resentment of what appears to many to be an abandonment of the TC 1xxx form factor. I suspect it is a bit early to jump to that conclusion. Nonetheless, I was greatly disappointed at the 4200 for its apparent "step backward" - but on reflection it seems a sound strategic decision by HP. It remains very possible and likely that within the year an improved TC 1xxx variant may still appear. I for one (still plodding along with an early TC 1000) am keenly waiting the next big thing from HP. I agree that it is silly to be bashing a design without anything but the most cursory examination - of pictures! All the same, I wish it had been something along the lines of the TC12000 everyone had been wishing for.
I'm sure the tc1200 is coming and it'll be great. I bet it resembles the prototype in the Intel Visions video.
That's a shame about the ship times.
I have no doubt that a new TC1200 will make the rounds soon. I don't think any of the TC1x00 owners should worry. HP knows that they have a winner on their hands.
I, too, was holding out for a new TC1200 on Feb 2.
Fortunately I can probably live without it for a while but I'll sure miss it like hell. A really nice tc1200 with a good keyboard and a 1.5Ghz processor would be pretty cool.
Hi, I am new to this forum. I was just wondering if anyone is sure about a Tc1200 coming out? I talked to three different hp reps today, and they all told me that there was not going to be an update to the tc1100. They said that the tc4200 was going to be the only tablet pc they were going to offer and that I would only be able to order the tc1100 version for another 2 weeks. They said the tc4200 would replace the tc1100 version. I really hope this is not true [: (!], but I don't know since I did talk to three different hp reps about this. Has anyone else talked to any hp reps about this? If this is true, I guess I will have to get the tc1100!!!!!
Krista
There's no way this can be true. There is most likely a tc1200 around the corner sometime. It could be tomorrow, next month or a year from now. Nobody really knows. The rumors and speculation about the new tc1xxxx are one of the universal constants on this board. When I bought my tc1100 8 months ago I had waited several months because of the rumored release of a new model then.
