All the touch screens I've ever seen show wear where you write on them. At least my Acer hasn't shown any yet, and I digitize quite a bit. Do you know if you can ink on Office 2003 documents? That's a big deal to me these days, especially with PowerPoint presentations. They come alive in a way standard ppts don't.
I hope that wear is purely cosmetic because if it would affect the behaviour of the touch screen it would be really bad thing :P

No, I cannot ink to Office 2003 documents directly because Office 2003 requires tablet OS to give me ink/annotation abilities :( At least, I haven't found out how. That is why is use GoBinder to handle all my documents - I can annotate and draw on those documents as much as I want.

I would miss the ability to ink to Office docs, especially PP. Does your flybook have assignable buttons? The tablets have hot buttons that you can assign to open programs, perform functions, etc. I think this is a very useful tool in slate mode. For instance, if I'm doing a presentation and need to switch from PP to another program, I can do it with one button.

Can you write as well on a touch screen as on a tablet? It seems to me you could be much more precise with a pen than witha finger.

Yeah, I am writing on the tablet with a stylus (which is basically a plastic pen with a ball-shaped point). If i wanted to write with a finger, i'd had to press pretty hard for the screen to react.

Pressure-sensitive screen advantages: styli are cheap, can input data without a stylus in case you lose it, even the eraser end of a pencil (worked on a Pocket PC) can be substituted.

Digitizer advantages: 512 levels of pressure-sensitivity, buttons with different functions can be built into the stylus (at the present, typically just right-click and erase), can see and move cursor without touching screen, screen can be made as durable as possible without hampering performance or requiring further advancements in technology.

    Hi Hrnt
Have you had a look at software like Annotator by Meander Software? I've used that with a graphics pad, and have found that it's more or less the same as inking with the tablet.
