Seems to me it would be a good thing if Motion produced some covers for the connectors. these would be plastic blanks which would engage the connectors and be flush with the side of the tablet. 4 or 5 would be needed for each bank of connectors. They would keep junk out of the connectors and make that edge easier to hold.

I was thinking of something that would fit over the entire endcap. you could use a vga connector in the cover
to hold it in place. or perhaps a sound plug at one end and
a modem phone plug on the other if a single vga connector
didn't hold it in place well.
