Here's his email to me after I asked if he would take PayPal

    Dear customer,
First of all we want to thank you for your reply and about our products we can say that we own a shop in Torino(Italy).
They are brand new,in originals boxes, sealed and they have one year international warranty.
The shipping and insurance are included in price.
The delivery will take 48/72 hours.
So if you are interested please e-mail us back soon
The delivery method that i use with all my customers is trough UPS air service.
The payment method that i use with all my customers is the one trough
Western Union and it turned out to be satisfied for both sides.
    Thank you!
    All the bests!

-New eBay ID - 1 day old
    -Only accepts Western Union
    -No History (of course)
-Says he is in UK - but replies in email that his shop is in Italy
-ID's of bidders held private - maybe to push up price at end?? - But you cannot contact other bidders

The only amusing part is "No bidders from Nigeria ,Africa i not shipp to these country!" - and obviously a schollar of the English language :D

    Maybe I am wrong

It would be funny to check those out and next time you're in Italy, tell him that you want to pick it up from his store...

I'd never buy anything that is not cash on delivery...

Wow, it sold for about$1730. Hope the "private buyer" got his goods.

Lets see how the feedback falls.....

    Just call me a sceptic

Well for every 10 laptops sold there must be a a scam also. You run into more of them than taxis in NYC.

I just emailed some shmuck a question and the reply was a form letter (didn't even answer my question) saying to send the loot to England and use their favortite escrow service (ripoff service).

It doesn't even make me mad or anything at this point. I just email back " No thanks" knowing that it won't be read.

What worries me is that for the scams to be growing in number so must there be an increase in victims to make it profitable

Perhaps this business model will have to go through a few changes

Hi all new to the group as of now!!!

Just saw something today that peaked my interest. It was a packing and shipping store that confirmed and held items for delivery for Ebay. It is an authorized UPS DHL and Fed-Ex shipper in a newly built mall here in Green Bay. Might be a good inovation to the trust side of it. Pay the shipper to send the item and the shipper pays the seller.

Even ebay says that useing Western Union is a bad idea (considering they own PayPal i don't know how biased the are, but....)

    Here is another classic.

Go look at the item, the bidding history, and the seller's feedback.

This is actualy the second time the seller put the same item on eBay. Seems the first buyer did not pay (wonder why!??)

In the bidding history, there are various "bidders" with little or no history, and its obvious the seller was using these ID's to push up the price.

The ultimate buyer got screwed, since he dod not recognise all the classic signs. The biggest one being no PayPal..........

Seems that scammers are also going to lengths these days to create false history to seduce buyers into the "big one"

    Beware!!

Also, if it's a stock picture, I'd be wary of it.
