    Default I can not get Outlook exe to close when I close

    I can not get Outlook exe to close when I close Outlook. The service continues to Run the unit gets hot and the battery wears Fast!

    Anyone have any ideas on whats going on?

    I've not seen this problem. I have no clue what could be causing it. Are you connecting to an Exchange Server? Any chance it is having trouble shutting its connection down? How about ActiveSync? Any chance it is keeping an outlook session open on you?

    Several possibilities! Here are a couple of things to try.

    1. Go to "Help - Detect and repair" in Outlook. I have seen this fix some issues like this.
    2. Re-install the Office Pack.
    3. Have you added any other Outlook "add-ins"? If so, reinstall those.

    Sounds like this is somehow related to a COM addin or a corrupt DLL. You may want to check Task manager when this happens to see exactly what process is hung.

    yes Task manager shows outlook.exe is what is hanging even though the program has been closed.
