So far J (but hate the I, I dont get with TIP in my cursive)love my 302.

I need help getting my external monitor to display in the correct orientation.

It is 180 degrees off when Acer is in flipped tablet mode, but correct when in keyboard available mode.
I have tried going into the graphics properties from graphics options and changing rotation, but it (the check box) for enable rotation is greyed out.
Devices -Monitor is primary and I can't get it to stay as notebook?

Setting in display properties - Driver does not seem to matter (single or multiple).

Also tried the power tool extended desktop (but I don't get how it works). Anyone use it? Have more on it?

    Thanks

I have a 303xMi set up with the notebook in portrait mode as monitor 1 and a 19" external monitor setup in 1280 x 1024 (landscape) mode as monitor 2.

    Here's how I did it.

I disconnected my external monitor and set up my notebook to the orientation that I wanted it to be. I then connected the external monitor and started properties.

This is where it got tricky. Click on monitor 2 (if that is your external) and then select the advanced button.

Click the adapter tab and then select the "List All Modes" button. From here I selected the resolution and refresh rate for my monitor.

    Click OK, Click OK.

Select monitor two and check the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor."

Position monitor 2 relative to monitor 1.

    Click Apply or OK.

I found that the save as scheme option doesn't work. Actually, the save as seems to, but the restore to the scheme does not.

If you're using the slate, I'm not sure where the external monitor comes in... but I think you have the option of setting the slate orientation to be 180 degrees off where it is now (Landscape Secondary versus Landscape Primary). Then you can just hold the slate other way up...

In fact, I'm typing this on a Tablet setup with occasionally used external LCD monitor for presentations. The Tablet is a portrait slate, and the LCD could be rotated anticlockwise on its stand from landscape to portrait - where its image would be upside down. Well, I could have flipped the Tablet - but instead, I turned the LCD portrait then unscrewed it from the stand and screwed it back on /landscape/. Now it rotates /clockwise/ for portrait, and it matches the Tablet.

Rotating a CRT monitor is trickier, but I've used them that way. But it probably invalidates their warranty.
