Default I've just taken delivery of a new M200, and spen

I've just taken delivery of a new M200, and spent the evening setting it up. However when I came to put my new toy away I pushed the pen into the slot (hole) in the right hand side of the case, however there seems to be no spring release as documented in the manual, and the pen won't pop out. I've tried to pull it out with tweezers to no avail. Has anyone else had a similar problem? if necessary I'll have to send the thing to Toshiba support but it would be nice to be able to get it out myself rather than send it away. The problem isn't a show-stopper as I have other wacom pens that work OK with the M200, but it's annoying to break the thing within a day of getting it.

Bummer. It should spring back out. I would bend a paper clip into a hook and try to grab the clip of the pen.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately there is no room to get anything down there, and when I pull with tweezers it seems to be jammed I daren't pull too hard for fear of damaging the pen. I've now been in touch with Tosh support, and its off to them on Monday, not a great start.

That is obviously no fun. First time I've heard of that defect.

Are you pushing it in to release the springloaded catch?

Yes, but there seems to be be no springiness in it, it does go in but doesn't spring back. I can pull it back a bit with tweezers so that the rounded end protrudes slightly but then it won't cone out any further, it almost seems as though the edge of the pen is catching under the lip of the slot, but I cant rotate it in any way so that it comes free. The pen seems to be a pretty tight fit anyway.

Well, I guess it's caught on something in there.
Hopefully I'm in time to save YOU time on trying to undo the assembly: I just undid the most obvious screws on the back but it doesn't seem to release the docking bay in any way.
I also noticed there's that hole on both adjacent edges that you could put a paper-clip in. I put some decent pressure on it as a 'hook' to try and use it to pull the bay out too, but to no avail.

It's a weird one, justifies to me why I very rarely use the silly thing.

I think it's a comfort thing for formerly commited PDA users.

(I'm a 'pen in pocket' person).

Incidentally, when the clip breaks off, the pen won't even stay in the bay at all.

Thanks for that, I'll certainly be wary of using it again, unfortunately I have a tendancy to lose pens, not too bad if it's a biro but more unfortunate if it's a £25 pound. tablet PC pen. I guess I might find some way of tethering it to the PC, by the way I notice that you say when rather than if the clip breaks off.

Well it depends on how old your kit is.

There's been a redesign of the pen coz they certainly once were a case of 'when' rather than 'if'.

    Here's the story so far....

    My picture doesn't really show what the 'original' clip looks like;
you see it kinda, sort of broke off...

Got the PC back from Toshiba repairers (UK), full marks to them efficient pickup, turnaround, and return. The outcome was that the pen holder needed reseating, I assume that it was out of alignment and consequently the pen got stuck (I just hope it didn't end up poking into the PC internals). I thought I'd just post the outcome in case anyone else gets a similar problem in future. Only trouble is now that in all the toings, and froings I've lost the little bundle of spare nibs (anyone know where I can get more without having to buy a new pen)?
