Due to the overwhelming response to my question, should I now believe that Fujitsu owners are probably not very caring people? Is that true? After 25 views, no one wants to respond? C'mon now, SOMEONE has an opinion on this...
I will be replacing my Toshiba Portege 3500 laptop convertible. Should I buy the new Toshiba M200 or the Fujitsu Lifebook T4000? or something else?
Now, the tough question: WHY?
I'll need speed, bright screen for bright office, portability (light weight), as I enter patient data on a touchscreen in my medical office. Already own external DVD writer, so don't absolutely need internal one. Need longer battery life and am tempted by the Electrovaya Scibbler SC-2100. Also enjoy a resistive screen and like finger touch, so am tempted by the Sahara Touch-iT. BUT, I want a laptop convertible, I think, for travel and surfing the web.
PLEASE HELP ME!

okay but my response is tilted to Fujitsu since I own one. I needed an indoor/outdoor screen and the 5011D was the only game in town and I love it. Outside great. Not as good indoors as the new Motion 1400VA but beats the socks off it outside. However I would suggest you look at the new 5020 which has the new brighter wide angle view than any prior units. And this is a laptop..convertible ...go to portableone.com site and look at the specs...or go to Fujitsu site...AND the new fujitsu has the long live battery...5 + hours I think...and there is an longer use battery available I think
I Thought The 5020 is the slate and T4000 series is the convertible?
I've owned lots of Fujitsu Tablets through the years and they have the best quality of any other tablets I've tryed. I have the Toshiba 3500 too and the fujitsu quality is better, and there doesn't seem as many cracks and grooves that catch the dust and dirt. When I upgrade I will probably go with the T4010. If you really want a touch-screen PC they are generaly cheaper but the pen isn't suitable for what I do with my tablets.
I sold my M200, because it was too heavy for me. I ordered one TC1100 from HP.
But I am thinking in buy one another tabletpc. Maybe one Electrovaya SC2100 or Motion M1400VA.
Motion M1400VA could be the best view angle and bright screen. And the battery recharge very fast. About 1-30 hour
Electrovaya 2100. Has one wonderful battery life
Fujitsu with 9 cells battery. Has one long battery life as well, but it is too heavy and longer than Electrovaya 2100.
But if your problem isn't weight and size. You should buy one M200.
You're right. I'm looking at both the convertible T4000 series and the ST5000 slates series. It's easy to get confused. I'm determined to make the best decision. Thank you for your help.quote:Originally posted by rbushway

Haven't found 'em in comparison format...I'll keep looking. It is my money, and you guys all seem to know more than I do, so hence the questions. I will decide and let you know. Thanks.quote:Originally posted by XDS

Double threading, huh?
Thought I'd come for a wander and see. You cheeky bugger.
Just comparing the quality of posts should give you the answer though.
Besides, Toshiba set the standard in Tablets at launch in Nov '02 and the M200 has just raised the bar.
The Accelerometer is a whole argument in itself!
