A warning that, I hope, will help others:

I bought a new M205-810 at BestBuy this week. The display model had SP2 installed, and so did the factory-fresh machine that I bought. After messing around with it for a few days, installing and uninstalling a bunch of trial apps, I decided to recover the factory install from the CD and install the set of apps that I'd decided on.

    Big mistake.

The factory CD recovered an older SP1 image. I called tech support, and they told me that they only had SP1 CDs and that the factory image didn't match.

I downloaded all of the new drivers, installed them, and then applied SP2. This still wasn't quite the same as the factory install, as I don't have the Toshiba desktop background (no big deal) and had an annoying "bonk" after startup which I traced to an Nvidia executable which I disabled.

So....if you're buying a new M200 and it has SP2 installed, I suggest immediately imaging the disk. I wish I had.

This, unfortunately, sounds like good advice that everyone should follow. It's really beyond comprehension to me that Toshiba is not including a recovery disk with SP2. I know, I know, it takes time, yada, yada, but call me cyncial, if they came image the machine with SP2, they can manufacture new recovery disks as opposed to retiring inventory.

I should probably do this as well. Any suggestions for an imaging tool?

I've used the Norton Ghost and Apricorn's Ez Buss System with great success. The EZ Buss System is a hardware/software solution and is a bit pricey, but it does work well.
