Hi all - this is a newbie question (newbie to the TC1000 that is, not to computers in general!):

I recently bought a used TC1000. The system works but it is quite a mess and so I would prefer to do a clean re-install. At the same time I would also like to change the OS language: the system currently runs a german Windows but I would prefer to install an English OS version (both language versions came with the device - 3 CDs each).

But how do I do that?
The system has no CD drive and I don't own a USB CD device. Since the system is currently working I am able to access my home LAN and thus also shares on my other PC. Via this mechanism I copied the content of the TC1000's English "QuickRestore System Recovery CD" to the TC1000's HD (I placed it into a separate partition D: in case a restore first wipes clean the entire C: drive).

But how do I start that restore? And before I do I would also like to first know if that's supposed to work? I.e. will the restore leave the D: partition intact and NOT reformats the entire disk (and thus overwriting the recovery CD images on the D: drive leaving me with a blank disk and a dead system...)?

Any advice or description how to do a clean re-install from the Recovery CDs but WITHOUT an attached CD drive would be highly appreciated!

Excellent - thanks for the pointer. I think I found exactly what I need, i.e. the TFTP server, how to configure it and how then to tell the TC1000 to do a restore using that server.

Alas, the devil sits in the details! My HomeLAN router&basestation does DHCP but of course I can't tell it to provide the bootfile etc.

So I first need to establish a "Mini-LAN" between the TC1000 and my PC, so that I can use TFTP32's DHCP functionality and from there on "climb up the laddder". But for that I first need an Ethernet patch cable so I can directly connect my two systems.

But at least I now see a way!

    Thanks again!
