Standby shuts the screen and hard drive off but leaves everything in memory powered. Hibernate saves programs that are open, rtcl to the hard drive and then shuts the computer down, so to speak. I have only used hibernate just a couple of times mainly to see how it works and to see how long it takes for the computer to resume.
Standby isdefinitly the wayto go unless you know you will leave your tpc unpowered for a few days.
Portrait mode is great for taking notes and reading.
I read Business Week this way.
