Have you tried touching the pen to the icon with the arrows on the left side of the unit (where the USB, etc. connectors are)?
I'm finding I actually prefer the horizontal orientation when I'm in pen mode (maybe being left-handed has something to do with it), but there doesn't seem to be anyway to keep it from going into portrait when I rotate the screen.
I've tried changing the tablet settings in the control panel to no avail.
Is this a Windows glitch or an HP glitch? Or is there something else I need to set?

Yes, but I'd like it to not change orientation at all.quote:Originally posted by forbinproject

I don't have my TC1100 handy, but I think that if you get into the NVidea menu you will find that there are profiles for the two orientations.
You could try setting a system restore point and then deleting the profile for portrait mode.
If you don't get the desired result, you should be able to bring things back to normal with a system restore.
I've also been wanting to do the same thing.
I went into the nVidea control panel as WNewquay suggested, and found that it had "existing/default floating profile" checked (the middle one). I unchecked this, and instead checked "existing/default Docking profile" (the top one)
Clicked "apply", and it worked! I can now attach/detach the keyboard, and rotate/unrotate the screen, and it stays in the orientation I left it! I can still change the orientation by the hard icon at the side of the screen!
Thanks WNewquay, I would NEVER have found this!
NOTE, the labels in the nVidea control panel may be different - I have Japanese OS in mine, so I had to translate back to English for this post.
For a locked orientation one could download laptop video drivers at laptopvideo2go.com (or something like that from another video thread) and the laptop will no longer have the ability to rotate the screen... (tisk on you for buying a tablet then never using full functionality)
Also in the task bar is an icon proprietary to Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and in there you can in the second menu from the left (I think) change the series of events which the screen changes. Maybe if only one mode is set through there (and maybe in Q menu also) the screen is locked.
I personally would download the latest laptop drivers though as the only thing affected in them (in my experience) is the screen orientation
Here's the window for the available profiles.

Eewe. I don't like that idea, at all.
It's not functionality, it's a preference - I still want to write on the thing. I'd be concerned that doing the above [u]would</u> compromise functionality.quote:(tisk on you for buying a tablet then never using full functionality)

Rick provided an interesting comment in parentheses ... are there any techniques us lefties should use to make the TC1100 more accurate and efficient for southpaws?
One thing I found was left-handed cursors. Normal cursor is in the way, all the time. Left-handed cursor stays under the pen.quote:Originally posted by Dr_Matt

Here's a link to a bunch of them:

I like the blue metallic. It seem, to be the least intrusive and the animations are cool.
Also the tip on profiles did the trick. I'm real happy.
