I have auto screen orientation on. It changes to primary portrait when I switch to tablet mode. I want it to switch to secondary landscape instead. When in tablet mode, I go to tablet and pen settings and change tablet orientation to the way I want it, but the next time I switch to tablet it's back to portrait again. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, after I have changed to tablet and back again, the desktop icons are all over the screen and I have to move them all back to the right places. Is there any way to keep them from moving around?

On an unrelated note, I dropped it and broke the latch and hinge :( Trying to decide if it's worth sending in to get it fixed.

Go to the control panel and select display (or right click and hit properties if you're running the standard windoze shell), settings tab, hit advanced, select screen rotation.. this is where you can pick what it automatically rotates to. I too have it go into secondary landscape on rotation..

Doesn't give me the option to change screen rotation:

You probably want to update your graphics driver. With the latest driver you get different options, including what to rotate to when you do a rotate.

Hmm yeah your comp should look like sierra's.. and I thought I was running the standard drivers. Guess not.. weird cause I never upgraded them, maybe a windows update did that for me..

:( I updated the graphics driver and it still looks the same. I got the latest driver from Intel...

This is my first post on this site, I dont generally say much but when I do I'm confidentthat its worth saying.

To disable the tc4200’s automatic default screen orientation mode on startup, please follow the steps provided below:

    1. Click Start, Run, and type “Regedit” in the open box and click OK.
    2. This opens the Registry Editor window.
    3. You'll need to go to the Run key in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Run) and edit the value hpqMcSrv
    4. Just remove "/start" from the end of the value data (C:\Program Files\HPQ\Q Menu\CpqMcSrV.exe /start).
    5. After you reboot, the mode change service will be disabled and the display will no longer change automatically based on physical orientation.

I hope this helps you out
