SP2 does about the same thing. Try it if you haven't already, it's definately worth the download.

Hi there,
I've just received my new Tablet Pc (M1400VA, Yay!) and I seem to be lacking a piece of software that was installed on a demo machine I used before. It performed an operation similar to the SAP program description.
"Handwriting recognition is enabled in data entry fields through pop-ups that eliminate the need to use the Input Panel"
Basically, a small version of the writing pad input panel would pop up next to entry fields (Like an address bar, for example) when you more your pen over them. I really liked this, and I'm looking for whatever software that was.
Thank you!

you dont need extra software - I am sure what you saw was SP2 RC which was out in beta before the SP2 release...
So download the upgrade and you will have it..I would suggest you turn on autodownloading of up dates...better than downloading the entire release...or send off to MS for the FREE CD including shipping
The new release will have the changed TIP that you are looking for
Happy tabletling
the only problem is that it's out of stock, i.e. more pre-orders than CDs, and it will ship on 25th.
If it wasn't Sp2 you were looking at, I'll bet it was Gobinder they were demoing.

Hmm... from his description of the software, it sounds more like an OS wide thing than just the single app (like GoBinder is). I imagine what you are looking for is Transparent TIP -

or
http://www.handecomputing.com/
Josh Einstein from Einstein Technologies developed most of that, and I threw in a few tidbits of my own, including building the installer for it.
Sounds like the floating TIP in SP2 to me! :)
Although that transparent tip looks cool.. does it work with SP2's floating TIP? :D

yup. it does seem like the new TIP. was it of blue color? if not, it might've been some 3rd party software. but now TIP can be opened at any data entry field. a button appears when you hover with the pen over a data field. you click the button, and TIP appears. as soon as the pen disappears from the TIP for more than 2 seconds, TIP closes.
No... it does not, and probably won't be updated so that it does. The pop-up icon in it, looks almost exactly like SP2's floating TIP though, just without the windows theme styling.quote:Originally posted by arebelspy

Thanks guys, that is probably what it was. As soon as I get SP2 (I have automatic downloads on) I will be able to check and get back to you.
