Default I recently got this machine and I'm having a few

I recently got this machine and I'm having a few problems, maybe you guys can help?

    1. After undocking, if unit goes into hibernate mode it will not wake up unless the unit is powered off and on again.

    2. I like my task bar on top of his screen, when I redock the Tablet PC, and switch monitors from the tablet PC to my LCD, the task bar appears at the bottom of the screen. :-(

    3. In Outlook 2003, when replying to an email, if I can “write” the reply, rather than typing it. I am aware I can write a reply at the bottom in the “writing area” but I want to know if it is possible to write the reply in the actual message reply area.

    4. When docking my unit, is there a an automatic configuration for it to automatically switch to my external LCD monitor, instead of having to manually switch it?

    5. In Outlook 2003 (Using Exchange), I'm having this issue with not being able to use the CTRL-Q shortcut key to mark a message as read?

If anyone can shed any light on any of these issues, I will be forever in your debt [unworthy]

Number 1 sounds like it is going into Standby mode, not Hibernate mode. You may want to check these forums for Standby problems. I use my TC1100 with both Standy and Hibernate and never have experienced that sort of problem.

Number 2 is an unfortunate problem because HP has not updated the nVidia video card drivers. The problem is related to nVidia's profiles not properly saving the information. You may want to try and tinker with the profiles. You can access them by right clicking on the desktop and choosing nView Properties.

Number 3 is definitely possible. You need to use Word as your email editor for it to work. In Outlook, choose Tools --> Options --> Mail Format tab. You'll see the options to use Word 2003 as your email editor.

Number 4 goes back to your nView Profiles. You need to configure and save your "docked" profile.

For number 5 I'm not sure why it doesn't work. I tried it and it didn't work for my Exchange messages either. I did look it up in the help and it is listed in there. Maybe someone else knows more about this.

SWCRUZ, Thank you very much for your reply :D

I will go ahead and play with all of those solutions you listed today. I have seen some ramblings related to the latest nVidia driver not being released through HP yet, but did not know that it was related to some of the issues I had.

I have been trying to figure out this Ctrl-Q thing out for Outlook 2003 for a couple of weeks now, and there is like no information anywhere. I'm half tempted to pick up the phone and call Microsoft.[B)]

Try unloading all of your tool tray applications one at a time. I have run into programs like ICQ and Trillian that are configured to intercept some keypresses by default.

One of HP's preloaded apps could be doing this. If so, hopefully it is a configurable option.

I was a firm proponent of the CTRL-Q in Outlook as well, until I started to use my Tablet without a keyboard on a regular basis. For that reason, I ended up dragging the icons for "Mark Read" and "Mark All Read" onto my toolbar. That way, I get the same ability with the pen, without having to fumble with the TIP. I find that I even use it with the keyboard attached now. BTW, I don't have a CTRL-Q problem with an external keyboard, but it is unreliable with the attached keyboard.

Just for comparison, I had the Ctrl-Q problem with an external keyboard.
