I just installed a trial version of Zonealarm Security Suite and immediately experienced an insufferable slowdown in the TIP. In Word, handwritten text was extremely slow to clear the TIP screen even after it had been sent into Word. Uninstalled and no problem. I like their firewall a lot, so I may try the simpler Zonealarm or Zonealarm Pro to see if it causes fewer problems.

I find that surprising - I've used ZA on my tablet from day and never had a problem. I didn't have any trouble with ZA Pro when I tried it either.
I assume the security suite has got more in it than just the firewall. Could one of the other components be the cause of the problem?

Have been using ZA with Antivirus for a few hours with no TIP problems. So there is something specific to ZA Security Suite that interacts nastily with the TIP.
I would guess that it is the AntiVirus examining the TIP input. Could you report it to http://www4.zonelabs.com/cgi-bin/ser...port_req_fp.pl if you haven't already and let us know what they say?

I've been using the ZA suite since the first day I got my tablet--2 weeks ago. I'm not noticing any slowdown, but I have no comparison (it was my first install on the machine). How long is the delay you experienced?
By the way, I was hoping to determine which added feature in the suite had caused your slowdown. So, I've fiddled with the settings to try and force a slowdown (some things were turned off), but observed no change. Maybe I'm experiencing the problem but just don't know it?

We got our tablets at the same time!
I would suggest uninstalling ZA and seeing how the TIP works. It is quite fast. It reads about as fast as I write - usually by the time I have written three words the first word has cleared the screen.
With ZA suite installed, even after the text had been sent into the document, the script remained on the TIP and I had to write around it.
I ended up uninstalling ZA Antivirus. I was getting system slowdowns. Could be an interaction with something else - Adaware, for example.

At this time we do not support XP Tablet Edition. That is not to say
that the program will not run, however the resources required to re-draw the screen would not have been taken into consideration at the time of our development of our software. This would cause the performance and screen clearing issues that you have experienced.
You may see support for tablet edition OS programs soon, however it is hard to say when.
