Why not just activate again? There shouldn't be problem with this unless you start doing it regularly.

Hi ... I created sucessfully the XP Tablet install cd by following the procedure which was describe in this form(by placing I386 & cmpnents ). But the problem that i'm facing now is activation of the windows. It said i need to activate the Window before 30 days. Is it possible to place the wpa.dbl which was found in the window by using recovery cds. Are they anyways to overcome this, i mean by copying some files from the window which was created using recovery disk. Is it possible to reacivate, i mean the recovery window is already activated by toshiba, so if i reacived again .....
Spec: Portege 3500
Thanks

I'm not quite sure from your post what the problem really is. If you are doing a clean install (a presumption on my part) then what is the activation issue? Go ahead an activate.
the probl is now solved ....

What did you do to solve it?
Well I cannot speak for qqr03, but here is my experience:quote:Originally posted by mjmattson

I used a friends Windows XP Tablet PC edition cd that came with his Gateway tablet.
The install went perfectly. Then came activation. I called microsoft and read off the numbers and ACK! it was rejected. So I hung up and thought about it and realized that I had never entered a product number, so I thought what the hell, clicked the "Change product code" button and put in the windows xp key from the bottom of the laptop.
I then was given another activation code, cqalled microsoft and it worked they gave me the key and I am running smoothly.
