Have you checked your drivers? If that doesn't work you should check http://www.tc-one-thousand.com/ and go to Upgrades, then wireless network (it will show you the card and you can double check that it is pushed in all the way, etc. etc..
I just bought a TC1000 refurb and I am not sure if I have wireless capabilities or not.
My tablet came with an Intel PRO/100 M Mobile Connection LAN Card, but nothing I do seems to get wireless networking to execute (granted this card is wireless-capable).
I click on Q Menu > Wireless ON/OFF but no green light flashes and the Q Menu just goes away. Any ideas?

ADD - The intel pro/100m isn't your wireless connection, thats your network port, your wireless network connection is your Compaq 802.11b WLAN Mini-PCI (check the properties of your Network Connections to see if it is enabled.
I have the same problem as the first guy. The wireless on/off button on the Q-menu has never done anything. I looked in the device manager, and haven't been able to find anything with "mini-PCI" in it. I downloaded the updated driver from HP, but it didn't do anything for my problem. I have added RAM to it, and saw some sort of removable component in the same little compartment as the RAM slot. Is this the wireless card, if so, how can I check it for functionality?
I suppose opening the RAM access panel and checking if your antenna wires are present and connected would be another way to know for sure. Look for a black and a white wire.
What is listed under your Network Adapters in the Device Manager..?
The antennas are present and accounted for. However, a new developemtn has occurred. Normally, the network adapters make no mention of the mini-pci card. I have been using a CardBus adapter from D-link to access my network. My sister recently bought a TwinMOS B-series pc card and could not get it to work in her laptop. She lent it to me to try and find out what was wrong. I plugged it in and installed the drivers it came with, and it worked fine, but had a lower range and lower speed. I expected this, as it's a rather cheap-o card. HOWEVER, when I went to the properties for the card, it is listed as Realtek RTL8180 Wireless LAN (Mini-)PCI NIC!!!! It seems that inserting this TwinMOS card somehow activates my internal wireless!!! WHAT THE SPORK?
Oh, and if it wasn't clear, the PCI device disappears off the list when the TwinMOS card is removed.
Hi,
I have exact the same problem. Bought a refurbished model on Ebay and everything so far seems to work apart from the wi-fi. I will, hopefully, today recieve a Crucial 512MB memory module I really hope it does the trick otherwise I am thinking of upgrading the card anyways with 54Mbps.
Not all TC1000's came with built in wifi. When sergio asked you to check to see if the antennas are there, his intention was to ask if they were connected to the miniPCI wifi card. Even if your TC1000 came without wifi, the antenna cables are still there, they are just not connected to anything. Mr. Bowen states that when he removes the pc card wifi, the PCI device is also removed from device manager. This leads me to believe that there IS NOT a built in Wifi card inside your TC1000. However, all is not lost. My TC1000 came with built in wifi (802.11b) and I prefer to run an "all g" network at home. I found a Dell Truemobile mini PCI wifi card on ebay - from one of the storefronts - for $39.00. It came with all the packaging and such and was in the original Dell shrinkwrap. In addition, I get much better range with it than I got with the HP wifi that came with my TC1000. Installation with drivers and all took about 10 minutes and was pretty straightforward.
Steiner, adding 512 mb RAM will not make your wifi start working, however, it will greatly improve the performance of your TC1000.
