Have not had any problem with the search function. Make sure that you have the correct check boxes marked, otherwise GoBinder will skip sections of your database.

I could be doing something wrong but for some reason when I take notes in Gobinder, using a note page or an entry for a diary entry, and then try to search on the text, it never finds the text. And this is despite my deliberately selecting the text I know is there, applying the lasso, converting to text to make sure it recognises my writing and then either converting back to handwriting or leaving it as it is.
Is this a bug in Gobinder or am I doing something fundametally wrong. I did try out FCTP and its search function on digital ink seems to work fine so I might have to look at that product instead
Thanks

I do have all the sections checked. But I just tried doing an optimize database and after that process, the search worked okay. Strange and I hope that you don't have to do that all the time

There is a slight delay between when you ink something and when it is saved and indexed. When you close a note, the saving and indexing happens immediately for that note. If you are trying out the search, just close the note before doing the search by clicking the blue "X" box on the far right side of the history bar, or right-click on the note's button on the history bar and choose "Close Window."
Seems to be working okay now after I did the optimize database. Before I was even trying things like, get Gobinder to recognize the writing to make sure I was searching for the right word or that GB had recognized it correctly. But I have noticed one small issue - it seems to me anyway that the actual recognition in GB is not as good as the recognition in OneNote. This is not a scientific study - just empirical evidence so far.

All,
The first release candidate of GoBinder 2005 (build 593) is now available. You should be prompted to download it the next time you launch GoBinder. This release corrects issues identified during the public beta period, including fixes to native file import, printing, making edits in digital ink, and other errors submitted by email after a crash.
We appreciate your continued participation.
Thanks,
