Well, this will be a short thread. I just talked with a Gateway sales rep, and even though the Dothan version of the M275 can be purchased, it is not yet available due to heat problems.
Does anyone know if the Dothan processor in the M275XL makes much of a difference in performance compared to an older M275 before the Dothan was available?
Thanks,
-Chad

The bigest performance difference is in the cache, the Banias processor has 1 MB and the Dothan will have 2 MB. Also the Dothan is designed for higher speeds.
IamHim81,
Have you seen a Dothan in a laptop of Tablet to see real differences?
On the venerable website "Tom's Hardware", benchmarks seem to indicate that Dothan offers a 5% performance improvement over Banias when you factor into account clock speed differences.
The Dothan is also rated to use less power than the Banias so a slight increase in battery life may be noted
