Default OEM Vista downgrade to XP

    Hello All,
Long time visitor first (actually second) time poster. I have a LE1700 with Vista Business that I really need to downgrade to XP Tablet. Reasons being:
    • Purchased with Vista for future compatibility.
    • Need XP as we have a Win2K AD
I have not tried contacting Motion for an OEM Windows XP Tablet PC Edition disk (would this be the most common suggestion?). Would anyone be willing to give me a copy of a Motion OEM Windows XP Tablet Edition disk? I understand that there is a Royalty Downgrade Activation process but honestly, it is a pain in the neck. I'd rather install XP TE on my own and keep my fingers crossed that the SLIC table is in the BIOS for XP (I assume it is as the LE1700 comes with either Vista or XP). Has anyone else downgraded Vista to XP on this particular tablet?

I realize that this may raise a few eyebrows but this process is perfectly legitimate: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...rencesheet.pdf
My only issue is that I do not have the Motion XP TE disk.

Any help and/or comments are appreciated,
    U No Hu

If there are none that are willing to donate a disk would anyone be willing to provide some files from the I386 folder on their HDD? I really want to avoid activating several devices over the phone. We are a large organization that needs to do as much as possible in as little time possible. Phone activation is time consuming and error prone (to err is human).

    Thanks,
    U No Hu

Thanks WNewquay. I didn't think I (or anyone involved) would be breaching copyright. I have learned a bit more concerning the subject of downgrading as well. My supervisor is working with the vendor through which the slates were purchased to see if the vendor can establish something similar to what IBM is doing:
