Has anyone ever had to change their lcd screen? Mine cracked over the weekend... Weird thing is i did not drop it or hit it on anything, but now the lcd looks like it leaked. Also the outer covering is unscathed, no scratchtes nothing, so i dont know how it happened.

Sad thing is best buy wont cover it under their extended warranty because they consider abuse. I had no luck in arguing that the outer case showed no sign of abuse or mishandling.

Has anyone ordered just a lcd screen for this model? Most online retailers dont carry this specific screen. Or does anybody have a busted m200 they need to get rid of that has a good screen?

Here's a couple of threads with folks who have had LCD problems. I remember a thread where someone replaced the LCD themselves but can't seem to find it at the moment.

In the second thread here one of the users talks about doing just that. Perhaps you could contact him for more info.

    Thx for the links.

Ive decided to switch the lcd screen myself. Ive been shopping around for a spare lcd but still no luck, I was hoping that I would be able to find a broken m200 on here or on ebay...

If theres anyone that wants pics on the processes of removing the lcd let me know. Its pretty simple and its an easy way to remove those white dust sports under the screen mask.

Hi, I'm interested in how to remove the piece of plastic on top of the screen. My M200 is only a week old and it already has 2 dust particles under the screen, annoying as hell. From what I see, the piece of plastic seems to be glued unto the screen, is there any easy way of removing it?

Here's a couple of threads on that subject showing how others have dealt with this issue.

I was evaluating the M200 and the screen cracked as well. I have no idea how it started, but once it started 'splitting' it wouldn't stop. Toshiba quickly sent me a new one to evaluate - I must say, they have been absolutely exceptional!!! I don't have too many concerns about the Toshiba (so far, through the typical 'business' evaluations it has rated best compared to the Motion M1400 and Compaq TC-1100) but the screen issue has me concerned. How durable is it under normal conditions??

Judging by what I've read, it is not terribly durable to any pressure that doesn't come straight on from the pen. I read one story about a guy turning with his M200 in his hands open in laptop mode and just lightly bumping the door jam (I think it was) and cracked his screen. Others are more obvious: dropping.

I am purchasing an expensive carrying case, the Toshiba Fieldmate / Infocase Fieldmate designed specifically to wrap around the M200 and let you use it while it is in this protective fitting. Reading these stories is what thrust this $130 item to the forefront of what to purchase with my future Tablet, aside from the 3-year accidental coverage.
