I have an Acer C110, and I usually keep it in the Max Battery power setting, so it goes to sleep(so to speak) in a minute, The thing is, if my Tablet PC sleeps while I'm in protrait mode, when I try to resume, the logon screen is garbled and nothing responds. Plus if I shut down my PC by holding the power button, when I power it up again Windows always performs disk checking due to improper shutdown, which is a hassle. This doesn't happen when I'm in landscape mode.

Has anyone experienced the same thing? Would anyone know whether this bug is with Windows or something Acer-specific and, more improtantly, how to fix it? Thanks. :D

I have the same problem. Try changing the orientation of your screen (by pressing FN and the Up/Left arrow.) This fixes the screen. You can hit it four times to go all the way around.

I think at one point someone said that loading some older video drivers took care of this problem, but I've never tried that.

You can program the screen rotations to only include those orientations you actually use. I've got mine programmed for just primary portrait and primary landscape. Just click the "change" button on the Display tab of the Tablet and Pen Settings control panel. Should save you a few button pushes at least.

This is a known problem with the Intel graphics driver and has been fixed (in a round-about way) in the latest release. Go to the Intel web-site for the latest drivers. What it does now is resumes from stand-by in landscape mode whether you are physically in portrait or not. But it resumes without the screen being garbled. Then you just rotate the screen to get it back to portrait.

I have experienced both of these problems (resuming with a corrupt screen and resuming in landscape mode). The versions of the graphics driver prior to the latest version has neither of these issues. The version number is 6.14.10.3762, dated 10 Feb 2004.
