I have a compaq TC1000 and bought a Storix USB 2 cdrw-dvd driver for it. The drive works fine on all machines but not on the tablet. At times it is recognized as a Samsung CDRW drive but is unable to detect any CDs in the drive (they all appear as music CDs). I applied the code morphing patch and tried disabling NEC hi speed controller - but none of them have helped. Any other suggestions ? Thank you.
I bought the tablet with 512/40GB for $1014 and the storix drive for $78. Both include warranty and shipping.

sorry that I Won't be able to Provide much help but, I own the Same Drive, (from Tiger direct)
Mine two is reconized by is a Samsung CD RW But I have no problem Reading any CDs or DVDs. I can use it like any normal Drive. I loaded no extra driver (XP does'nt need one)
I can also boot off of the Drive using CDs or DVDs
All I Can Say is, a TC1100 had no problems
