Has anyone installed Office 2003Pro on their M14

Has anyone installed Office 2003Pro on their M1400? Any installation problems or odd things happen after the install?

I installed office 2003 pro right away when my 1400 arrived 12 days ago. No immediate problems (at least none I could recognize as being office-related). So far, I have used Word and Excel without problems.

I have the dancing cursor and non-working wireless connectivity, but they are not related to office.

My M1400 came preinstalled with Office 2003. It seems to run with no issues, even under SP2 Beta. I have been trying out the OneNote beta release as well. It seems mildly improved but nothing revolutionary.

Sorry about this. I'm a newbee looking at the 1400. Is inking new to Office 2003 or did it work for older versions as well? And, if I understand the thread, there is no nothing lost in buying and loading Office ourselves instead of having the manufacturer load it. Right?

A certain amount of inking is there with Office XP, if you install the Tablet Add-on pack that is available from Microsoft. Inking is definitely improved, and more fully integrated, with Office 2003 however.

And no, there is no reason not to install your own separately purchased copy of Office. Especially if you are eligible to buy, for example, the much less costly Academic version.
