I really hope he takes you up on releasing a new model. I've had my TC1000 since launch, and have been itching to upgrade. But, I wanted to skip a generation.

Just bought a new TC1100. Should be here Friday. I'm still sure a new model is just around the corner but figured it could be annouced tomorrow, not ship for months and even then be hard to find at any sort of discount. I was hoping for something with a slighly larger screen but I may end up liking the smaller form factor. I am primarily a desktop user and wanted something to use for notes and wireless e-mail and web surfing when I'm not at my desk. Need to get a eraser pen and keep the standard one as a backup and I should be set.
Carly, if you're listening, you can release the new model now.

rdowty,
Welcome aboard!
And Carly if you [u]ARE</u> listening, now would be a real good time to release the next model. Need to order another for or department (currently have 5). The last two faculty recruits (Pathologists) have both opted for a tablet. Is that cool or what?
Mark.
rdowty, I think you will be pleased with your purchase regardless of the smaller display. It's a nice tablet with some strong features. I have not had any real complaints about the TC1100, except the fact that it cannot survive a four-foot drop to a pretty hard floor (I just dropped one and its now being serviced by HP). Welcome to the party!
Tomorrow's the day. Hopefully FedEx will be gentle and everything will arrive in tact.
BTW - Carly is a she.

Advice from the weary...DON'T DROP IT! And consider the Accidental Damage Protection. It's a wad of money well spent IMO.
i am so jealous of you.
Ronald, (rdowty)
Glad that you pointed out the gender thing.
Congratulations on the decision and the impending arrival.
Was in a lengthy meeting last night with my TC1100, and must say that the little TC was the most tactful participant in the group. Subtle, innocuous, quiet, inobtrusive, addressing the group with a natural grace when its time came, but never imposing its presence out of turn.quote:Hopefully FedEx will be gentle and everything will arrive in tact.

Just got my TC100and I'm loving it. I had a Toshiba M200 for a few days and I like this much better. The brighter screen with the wider viewing angles is great. I'm not having any problems with the screen size. I think its more readable than the Toshiba. I'm glad I went with the TC100.
