Atticus,
A shot in the dark:
Try the ClearType Tuner to optimize the appearance.
You all have been so helpful that I'll ask another question...(I did a search and didn't find the answer)
I have the 1400. I am running an external 17" LCD monitor at work. In 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768 mode the text is fuzzy. I had the monitor on a machine with an ATI 8500 video card and it was razor sharp. I did go from DVI to the analog output on the docking station but still...I have made sure I am on 60 mhz refresh rate and the cords/plugs are tight. (No bent pins).
Anyone have fuzzy test? Is it the Exteme graphics not being up to par? Could my set up be wrong?
Thanks all!

The Text is a bit better with the Clear Type Tuner...Thanks. I tried another analog signal and it too looks crappy. I think Motion needs to put a DVI on the next generation of tablet. Heck the DVI to Anolog adapters are only a few bucks. Maybe I can try the adapter on the monitor or the cable and see if that helps...I doubt it. Oh the sacrifices I must make...
Atticus,
Another thought, (should have had it sooner); Is there a utility built into the monitor to recalibrate or auto-adjust to the input signal?
Thanks. I have tried that. Maybe I should run the CRT instead of the LCD.
Atticus,
Last shots:
Have you tried shorter cables?
Is it fuzzy without the docking station? (straight from the Tablet to the monitor)?
I, too, am having pretty much the same problem. Doesn't seem to help to adjust the monitor settings for that monitor, either.
Not sure if this can help on your particular situation, but it is an amazing piece of software to use with two monitors.

I will try it without the docking station tomorrow (I get to work the weekend). The cable was a standard analog 6 foot monitor cable.
I really appreciate the help. I'll Keep you posted.
WN,
Good call. The text is definately worse when viewed on the external monitor via the docking station. Without going throught the docking station it looks better.
Can anyone look to see if there is a difference on their set up (external monitor via dock and without the dock) to see if they get similar degradation? I either have "normal" decrease in clarity that we all get through the dock or I have a bad docking station. I wonder if I am being overly picky. I got LASIK last fall and I am about 20/15 in either eye and 20/10 using both.
