Default Well, I called up HP refurb. today to get the sc

Well, I called up HP refurb. today to get the scoop on their refurb. models. They will give me the 5% off like normal and they are also still extending their April promotion of getting 50% off any refurb. option with a purchase. The only thing is that I wanted a larger HD, they only have 40GB - can someone give me a price range of what a 60 or 80 would cost me if I got it online cheap? I am not sure on the size at all. And does anyone else have any info on how much 512 MB RAM would cost (I have been reading that I need to upgrade my memory on the thing)?

Also, one last question - since I started looking for tablets after the 2nd gen. I am not sure how long to expect for HP to release a Dothan based model if it gets announced as rumored on the 10th. Would it be best to just wait until then? I don't need a Dothan but if it will lower the cost of the TC1100 by a few hundred I will wait.

Sorry for all the questions but I am fairly new to tablets and figured you guys have much more knowledge than me.

    Thanks!

    -Dan

Check www.pricewatch.com for hardware prices (HD and RAM). I haven't heard anything that the impending announcement of the Dothan is going to change anything, very near term, in the world of Hp Tablets. My bet is that'll happen this fall.

Does the TC1100 take a regular notebook sized HD (I am not sure on specifics like ATA, EIDE, SCSI) and just notebook size memory? Thanks and sorry for these basic questions- I have only delt with desktops up until now.

Thanks for the info - I think I will just wait until the 10th to see if anything is announced from HP. I am so close I really can't justify rushing ahead and ordering it just because I want it so bad...

I've been trying to track this down on HP sales side, however they are telling me that they no nothing, and that its not a big surprise, they usually aren't told anything until it can be sold.

However, this is concerning to me, does anyone have any idea if they are in the process of releasing a new product with the Dothan chip within the month (or June?) I saw on a website that rumor has it that there were beta tests of this new model, nothing more than "they are extremely better than everything else currently", however, who really believes that?

Can anyone direct me to what Synapse is refering to about the HP refurb extending the april promotion? I really want to get a TC1100, can anyone tell me what the most cost effective way of getting one is?
Does the HP refurb a good deal?

    Thanks for your guys help
