Default Thanks to the great deal I got from Pyxus

Thanks to the great deal I got from Pyxus and the quick shipping, I've had it for about a week.:D The first thing I did was hook it to my network and download SP2.

The one problem I'm having is that I get blue screen errors alot. It seems to be related to being connected to my network wirelessly. It doesn't seem to happen if I'm right next to the router, seems to be related to being farther away with low signal strength.

Is this a common problem with a patch I haven't found yet or should I reinstall the OS?

    Thanks.

    Q:

I've been having some problems with BS (pun intended) and my wireless network, too. It seems that whenever I try and transfer files from any CPU to my tablet I get a blue screen error. It goes away so fast that I can't read it all.

In addition, my wireless connection keeps dropping. I know this has nothing to do with my WAP b/c I have a laptop right next to the tablet that NEVER drops its connection. But I wonder if this has anything to do with all the BS I have to put up with. This is really starting to piss me off, and I think it might have something to do with the broadcom wireless adapter.

I'll look out for this and post anything I find.

    Dev,
I have the broadcom wireless adapter in my m1300 va and have not had any trouble getting on line at different hotels and airports. (Knock on wood).
Have you disabled power saving mode? Look under wireless properties, advanced.

The only blue screen that has appeared was with an RS232-USB adapter with a gps. Those issues are resolved now so smooth sailing for me so far.

    Qfu2,
I never had such problem before. (using a Belkin 802.11b router).
Did you apply any driver update (from motion website) before or after installing the sp2?
Did you encounter these BS before installing SP2?
What exactly is the error message?
If you decide to re-install the OS, I would be curious to see if you still get BS (without sp2).
    Take care,

This site has been pretty good when I have needed to debug blue screen errors.

    http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If you really want to uninstall the Service Pack without having to reload the whole operating system.

    I found the following here:
    http://communities.microsoft.com/new...xpsp2&slcid=us

"How to uninstall XP SP2 - Torgeir Bakken"

You should be able to uninstall SP2 RC1 from Add/Remove Programs
    in the Control Panel.

You need to set a check in the "show updates" that's on top of the
Add/Remove Programs dialog box to see the entry.

The following command will also start the uninstall program:

    %windir%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spunins t.exe

Yeah, it was disabled. After about 6 "serious errors" and subsequent error reports, I decided to reinstall the BC driver. Seems to have worked...but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe this has something to do with the USB/PocketPC that caused blue screens when undocking? I don't know why it would BS me when I transfer files over the network, though, but worth a try anyway.

    BTW, I don't have SP2.

Wow. Thanks for all of the responses. I haven't downloaded any updates from the Motion site. The only one I did was SP2 and I did it immediately upon receiving the tablet. I did it with the docking station with wired connection to my router so I would get a decent transfer rate (still took over an hour). So... I never tried a wireless connection before SP2, but since Devo was having the same problems without SP2, I'm going to discount that right now.

I think I'll go check out Motion and see if I can get an update for the wireless adapter.

    Thanks

    Dev,

The only problem I have had with SP2 on the little m is that LabView express 7 will not shutdown. The task manager has to be used to shut it down. I have sp2 installed on my desktop and labview shuts down perfectly. The wireless works great with SP2. I sync my Ipaq with the little m with no problems. I do not use the docking station though.

    Good luck.

If I got my M1300 recently, and all the driver updates on Motions site are dated from last year, is there any reason to download these?

Strange. I think my "little m" is just a little tempermental. Sometimes it works great, and sometimes it just won't do what its told.

Is there an M1300 obedience school I can send mine to? :D

Oh, I also un/reinstalled the BC driver, and it seems to be working. So Qfu2, I'd try un/reinstalling the BC driver. After I uninstalled, the drvier recovery CD didn't recognize the device so I had to restart before I could get it to work. After that its worked pretty well on about 3 or 4 different networks. So try that and see if it works.
