I tried the search-option.. everybody is reffering to USB CD-drives, but why not use a USB stick instead? Its less hassle and less cost..

Can I use it to boot from to restore my system?

    Thanks [8D]

(check out this gadget, 1 inch 1,5 gb HD with flash-memory integrated and USB2 connection

It seems some USB memory keys works and others don't. Unfortunately the one I have doesn't, so i use the network for maintenance booting. Other people have had no problems. If you do buy something, just be aware you might not be able to boot from it.

Can you boot from the CDRW/DVD drive (with multibay) that HP offers as an option for the TC1100?

Hmm, any way to determine that? Does it depend on the usb-stick or my TC1000?
Anyone who can recommend me a stick that actually works? and is selfbooting:)

Thanks, cisgrad000. I just got confirmation today that my TC1100, docking station, and cdrw/dvd drive is on order. Yippee! Can't wait to find out why the shipping date is pushed back to May 15th.
