Well not exactly as per the subject line, but you might want to beware of "fallout"

Quoting from the link below:

RELEASE DATE: March 2004 LAST UPDATED: March 11, 2004

DESCRIPTION
Battery may accidentally fall out of unit if release latch is moved accidentally while the unit is being moved. This may cause damage to the battery.

DETAILS
The battery is designed with a screw so the battery does not accidentally fall out of the unit.

To prevent the battery from accidentally falling out of the unit, make sure the battery screw is in place.

<s>If you don't have two batteries - you might want to use the battery screw to secure the one you've got.</s>

Even if you do use two batteries, it is advisable to screw the battery in. I dropped one unit (TC1100) and the battery clip broke forcing me to screw it in. It was fixed under warranty, but it still meant being without it for a while.

Besides, I can finally justify wearing a pocket protector to carry the screwdriver around with me!

You can use 2 batteries in a single TC1100?

The TC1xxx series have the unique ability to swap batteries while in standby mode. I think you have a minute to do it. This is the only way to use two batteries in a single TC1xxx unit. There is only one battery bay in which only one battery fits at a time.

I think the screw feature is bad design. who carries a screw driver with them (besides Mark Payton)?

It certainly doesn't work well when you are in a meeting and your battery is draining: take out your screw driver, take out the battery, plug the new one in, and then screw it back it in.

Not exactly the best of circumstances and I bet you will be pushing a minute to do it.

I agree that the screw for holding the battery in is not a great solution if it's meant to be swappable. In my case, the screw hole doesn't even really line up! And even more, there was no screw in the original box. I decided to order an extra battery when I placed my original order and IT came with the battery screw.

To think of me taking out a screwdriver in the middle of a lecture at university and proceeding to unscrew my battery while my professor teaches is quite ridiculous. I will NEVER use my screw.
I have never had an issue with the battery popping out, although if I dropped it I can see how it would.

For any amount of swappability, the screw is a joke!
It takes me 15 seconds to standby->replace battery->back to desktop.
With the screw in place, that would be over one minute!!!!

Unique? Uhm.... My Motion Tablet does that. Motions have been able to since the beginning with the M1200. I believe every Tablet can.

I stand corrected. I was always under the impression that the HP units were the only ones that did that as it is one of their selling points. Thanks for the information. :-)
