From the review I read, the M1400 has no fan. This is one reason Motion opted to limit the M1300 to 1.0 GHz ULV processor and now to the 1.1 GHz ULV processor.
I understand that the M1300 didn't have a fan which is great. Does anyone know if the M1400 also doesn't have a fan for sure?
Thanks

I have an Electrovaya Scribbler 2010, The fan is crazy loud. I think it is time to get a MT l400 !
My EV fan only goes on if I am copying from a CD or doing some activity that requires the 1.2 CPU to work at full speed. While it is noticeable, the sound is smooth, normal and short lived. The new Motion uses a ULV 1.1 and may not use/need a fan. Fan or no fan, electronic components give off heat and must be cooled. The faster the CPU the more likely the need for a serious cooling system. I would think that a fan less TPC would become hotter to touch. Yet another compromise, heat or noise ;)
There is no fan in the M1200, M1300 or M1400 Motion Tablet PC's
I think that was the whole point of Motion limiting itself to use of the ultra low voltage processors (1.0 and 1.1 GHz), to allow for omission of a fan. Fan or no fan, design of a tablet plays just as crucial a role for allow a system to vent heat. I haven't heard many gripes about Motion's tablets so far in terms of heat.
My Tablet never gets so hot outside of its cradle that it's uncomfortable to hold. I hold the thing for two hours straight taking notes in class and it barely even gets warm, little warmer than body temperature.
