So, does anyone have any ideas about whether the new M1400's screen will be compatible with Pocket PC Tech's WriteShield?

Not sure if it will fit or impair the performance of the autoadjusting brightness...

The writeshield screen that I have installed for my little M (M1300 VA) is actually one for a Toshiba 35XX.
I believe the Toshiba tablets do not have glass screens but a plastic/polymer mix.
The writeshield should work on the M1400 but you might want to call Motion and http://www.pocketpctechs.com
    to get the latest information.
I have been very happy with the Writeshield on my little m.

    I'm waiting on delivery of a M1300VA.
Do I need some type of protector for the screen??

I've had my M1300 since last August, with fairly heavy overall use, and probably about medium pen use. I've never used a screen protector, and there are no scratches that I can see on the screen. :)

I couldn't see any scratches on my screen either until I took it out into the direct sunlight. I was shocked to see that the standard location for the TIP was getting a lot of scratches. These were completely invisible under indoor lights. I immediately ordered the WriteShield.

For those currently using a write-shield on there tablet, to what extent does the write-shield obscure the clarity and brightness of the screen. I have just ordered an M1400 and I am considering buying a screen protector but not if it will sacrifice a great degree of brightness or sharpness of the display, particularly where I find myself working frequently under flourescent lighting, which as we all have experienced the deleterious effects of such lighting.
