Default Has anybody had a problem scanning images into A

Has anybody had a problem scanning images into Adobe Acrobat to make PDFs? I gave up my desktop a while ago and am using my tablet at work exclusively. Lately, however, I've been getting "Object signatures badly formatted" or something like that after I scan a page or image, import into Adobe, and then try to save: no PDF ends up being saved. This never happened with my desktop, and I've even reinstalled Acrobat on my tablet, but the problem persists. I've got a TC1000. I'm wondering if its the tablet somehow.

    Thanks.

Hmmm! on both my TC1000 and TC1100 Adobe comes up with a print error when I "print" anything to PDF - although the PDF conversion *does* work - I just cancel the print error - just annoying really.

I had the same problem with Acrobat 5.05 and my TC1100. It continually gave "object formatted badly errors" when just saving a file that was printed from MS Word. It had nothing to do with scanning. It also routinely told me that I could not delete pages from an existing PDF because the "file was in use" or something like that. I got the same error even if I rebooted the tablet and started only Acrobat so that the file could not possibly be in use any where else.

Solution: Upgrade to Acrobat 6.0. BUT, watch out for black boxes around your imported B&W or greyscale signature graphic when using MS Word. The solution to this was found on the Acrobat web site: import the graphic into PhotoShop, change it to RGB, change one pixel to some color other than black and resave. Apparently, MS Word treats it differently if it is a color graphic and the black outline never appears. Don't ask how long I fiddled with this before I found the solution in the Acrobat user forum. Unbelieveably, they released 6.0 with serious scanning errors, so for scanning to work properly, you will need the 6.0.1 patch.

6.0 also will require you to relearn how to use the program becuase they changed all of the menus.

Definitely a love hate relationship with Acrobat 5 for me. On some machines it works, others it doesn't. I can't find a pattern to it.

Like Christopher: I do get the print errors and cancel and it works on the TCs.
I also get the same error as Tim on one of my desktops.

Only on my ThinkPad A31p can I get it to work reliably without errors.

I find Acrobat 6.0 to be a bit quirky, too. Works most of the time, but every once in a while, hangs while creating the pdf. I've been using pdf995 to create pdf files (http://www.pdf995.com). The free version opens your browser and sends you to the software995 website, but the licensed version (only $9.95) works great without the web-hurl. It works flawlessly on all my systems, including my TC1000. It was recommended to me by another Tablet user . . .
