    Aloha,

I'm looking to purchase a TPC.. I waited for the 2nd gen of the TPC's to come out so I could see how the "digital dust" settles.. I've read the reviews on www.tabletpc2.com, pc magazine, mobile pc, bargaintabletpc.com (please let me know if I'm missing any other informative sites..)

I'm in Timeshare Sales and I'm thinking of using a Slate or Hybrid TPC. I absolutely need a great screen for indoor/outdoor viewing.. and after hours of reviews, and spending way too much time reading as much as I could on the state of TPC's, and the latest releases, and of course these user forums.. I've decided on the following fab five (three slate, 1 hybrid):

NEC Versa LitePad - it's the thinnest and lightest..
Motion 1300 - Great screen (outdoor,) 3 lbs, and Centrino and WiFi
Electrovaya 2010 - Best power longevity, 3 lbs, Centrino and WiFi
Fujitsu 5011 - Great screen (outdoor,) 3 lbs and Centrino and wiFi
    Compac TC1100 - Hybrid -

Which would you recommend outta the five?

NEC battery is weak, and there's no keyboard options, etc..
    Motion is a front-runner but I'm concerned w/ CustSrvce, Wt & Power
Electrovaya - 2010 looks cool, best battery time, but the WORST customer service (at least from the forums I've read..) and I'm not too sure about the screen visibility outdoors
Fujitsu - they've been around a long time, screens are supposed to be the best, best assesories and good customer service.. 3 lbs, etc..
Compac TC1100 - most improved (from what I've read,) but as a slate, how does it stack up vs the others?

Please.. if you could, I'd appreciate a little more input/thoughts from any owners of these, especially one's who've owned 2 or more of the above mentioned TPC's..

    Many thanks,
    -Peter

I don't think there's one best tablet for everyone.

When I decided on the NEC, I made a table of my top 3 or 4 most important factors (battery life, screen, weight, etc). Rank and weigh the factors based on how important they are to you, then score the tablets you are interested in.

    Some help for your table:
The NEC has a great screen, it looks great outdoors compared to most LCD displays I've used, but is not an outdoor display and does look "washout" and dim in very bright sunlight. And, as you stated it is a pure slate so the keyboard is via USB only. Additionally, in my experience the battery life is only about 2.5 hours with wireless turned on.
