Since you are leaning toward convertibles, an M200, 60 GB HD, 2 gig of memory, docking station
What Tablet PC would you recommend if money wasn't a major factor?
I was looking at Toshiba or Acer? I've been using a Toshiba 3500 and quite like it although not as powerful as I'd like and viewing the screen is sometimes a little tricky in certain lighting. Also battery life is not great, but this is true of all 1st Gen Tablet PCs as I understand. From what I've read the 2nd Gen Tablets have much better battery life, but what about usability?
cheers,
ND.

ndarroch,
If money were no object...
Do what I did ...
Take two - they're small.
I'm serious:
Travelling Light:
Something small and light like the TC1100 or NEC. The TC1100 you could use in slate mode or bring along the keyboard when you need it. I have heard that the NEC has great viewing angles. I can attest that the TC1100 definitely does.
When Lightweight won't cut it:
Get a mini-desktop replacement with a great high resolution screen. That just leaves the Toshiba M200. In this class by itself.
It's not that money was no object, but it was less important than some other considerations. I ended up with a TC1100 and a M200.

Battery life in Tablets if very similar to battery life in normal laptops. I have a Toshiba 3500 with a P3 1.3M and I can get about 4 hours out of it. That rivals some Centrino's my friends have.
If you want something with a bit more power than the 3500, go with a M200 (Centrino based). A good Centrino 1.6ish will give you about as much power as a P4 2.4 - so a pretty decent upgrade from an 3500.

WNewquay - as you say, its not exactly that money is no object it is just not as important as other factors such as getting a good performing & good usability Tablet.
sco_robinso - 4 Hours, really? As I said, I've been using a Toshiba 3500 (512 RAM) and don't think I've managed more than 2-2.5 hours use.
I'm only leaning towards convertibles because it is what I've seen / used. I have no experience of slates.
If I was to go for a slate with docking station are the TC1100 and NEC the leaders there?
Thanks for the replies so far.

Regarding slates/docking, my Motion M1300 is a real trooper. Rode hard and put up wet every day for months. No problems so far. And it's doing very well with Win XP sp2 rc1.
