Would like to try it but concerned as I see posts on many forums that McAfee Antivirus has problems with it. Anyone know the story?

Chris,
I have "the problem" with the VirusScan updater.
The very simple workaround is to download the updates directly from the Network Associates site and click the one button install routine.
Not as convenient as the built-in updater, but it really only takes a couple of moments.
Given the benefits of SP2, I don't mind doing this for now.

Have you tried turning off the Windows Firewall? It would be interesting to see if that is the culprit.quote:Originally posted by dcorleto
Here's what I did - ran a fresh install from the Recovery DVD, and ran a broadband speed test - shows "off the chart". Then installed SP2RC1 and ran the same test - it shows almost 1/2 the speed...

WN
Found this while I am downloading SP2 RC1. Does it fix the problem? (Claim no responsibility for this!!)
To get McAfee auto update working
1) Launch DCOM Config (dcomcnfg)
2) Select Component Services, This Computer
3) Select Framework Services, Properties
4) Change Launch Permissions from Custom to Default
5) Close dcomcnfg
6) Should fix it!
Regards,
Chris
I'm running it, and haven't had any problems. I do like the new TIP features.
It sees my Norton Firewall and AntiVirus, but it can't seem to determine the "status" of my AntiVirus, so I always get the "Windows security alert" when I start up. In the Security Center window it shows Virus Protection in brown, and says "check status". I haven't found a way to make it see that the virus protection is up to date.
