Well I have had my M275 for about 3 months now with no scratches. There is actually a pane of glass over the soft LCD. So the screen is pretty hard. It could get scratched but it would seem like you would have had to try to do it.
i read some articles/forums at different places, and people who use tablet pc, or devices that has the option for stylus, talked about the screen protection, as after some time, you can have some scratches on it , that wont be that good. i just wanted to know if thats really true and you can have scratches after some time, if you dont use any screen cover/protection/ or something that goes on top of it and doesnt let the screen go bad..any websites...good deals......stuff like that???

The whole beauty of a convertable laptop is that the screen can be closed to protect itself. One of the reasons that the screen is so smooth and easy to write on is the fact that tempered glass is used to cover the LCD. It is also the reason that you can use glass cleaner to clean it.
Bear in mind that some (most?) tablets do not have a glass screen, and so would be much easier to scratch - I suspect the people talking about getting scratched screens probably have plastic ones, so keep an ear out for which model someone has when they're talking about scratches.
Gateway only makes the m275 which has a glass screen, so plastic screens should not be an issue in this forum.
I do have some small scratches on my screen and I've had my m275 for a little more than 3 months. I dont know how they got there, but they're barely noticable and I have to put the tablet in the correct light to see them.
some glass cleaners can damage the anti glare coating. look for a pc type of cleaner just to be safe.
I use windex wipes.... they work pretty good.
