I don't think the HP TC1100 is less than three pounds (3.4 lbs?), but it meets your Centrino and screen size criteria.
Pretty darn close, though.
Hi all,
I realise this may just be a cry in vain but does anyone know when there will be a tablet that fits these three simple criteria?
1. Has a Centrino processor
2. Uses a screen smaller than 12"
3. Weighs less than 3lbs
That's all I'm asking for yet no one has done it yet. The closest seems to be NEC's only tablet, the T400.
Are we waiting for a rush of new tablets or is the above specifications just a pipe-dream?
Insaa

I have the older mobile PIII version of this Centrino 10.4" Tablet which weighs in at 3lb 1oz:

Don't know if it ships to the US.

I haven't heard of the RM tabletpc before. How do you find it? Any major gripes?
Also, with the HP TC1100, is it much better than the TC1000 as I tested one of those and really didn't like the feel of it. It was definitely still too heavy for the weight I felt would be usable for long periods of time.
P.S. I'm in New Zealand. It's not hard to get the different models. It's just hard to test them without purchasing as you don't see many in shop windows (except for Toshiba's M205).

Insaa,
I have both TC1000 and TC1100. Except for the Compaq logo on the former and the HP logo on the latter, it is hard to tell them apart (look, feel, handling, fit, finish, weight)
- until you turn them on.
